Becoming More Productive at Work with Facebook and YouTube

January 21, 2010

It seems a University of Melbourne study proves checking FaceBook, surfing the Web, and checking out the latest YouTube videos actually make you more productive in the office. Who knew?

Those of you who know how straight-laced I am about following the rules will be surprised, but I AGREE.  The researchers claim taking these mini FaceBook breaks helps employees “zone out” and “get back their concentration” on work-related projects.  Truly, to get my brain revved up each morning, I start the day by playing a couple of Scramble and Pathwords games on my computer.  I’ve found this does serve as a warmup to get started on a great work day.

What do you think?
